Records from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) play a key role in tracking cyclone trajectories, thereby contributing to better risk anticipation and more effective emergency response management. The use of these data makes it possible, on the one hand, to determine whether these three mangrove sites were crossed by a cyclone between 1987 and 2022, and, on the other hand, to detect any damaging extreme precipitation events. In particular, Cyclone SAGAR in 2019 contributed to exceptionally high rainfall levels, raising the question of whether these heavy rains caused damage at the three sites.
